Thornton LeRoy “Moe” Morris
Moe was born January 12, 1939. God’s perpetual light shined on him January 22, 2022 and he took his beloved wife’s hand as they rose to Heaven above together again. It is with sadness and joy we remember his life. He was our last surviving Parent to his children.
Moe was a farm boy from rural Western, PA. Moe was retired from the United States Navy. He served on many carriers and traveled the world. He served on the VFS-15 Randolph Mercury Recover Mission. He worked Hospital Maintenance and was a retired Truck Driver. With his wife Gail they raised three beautiful children. A John Deere lover, you would often see him in the fields and hear that Putt Putt. A coin collector, a master tinkerer and an all-round jokester.
Moe was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Morris; parent’s Victor and Helen Morris; brother and his wife, Louie and Lana Morris; and his nephew, Bruce Kerr.
He leaves his children and their families, Debbie and Ray Chandler of Bright Star, Arkansas, Daniel Morris and Tom Deshaies of Putney, Vermont, Patrick and Ann Morris of Bradenton, Florida; sister, Charla Thomas of Erie, Pennsylvania who lost her hero; his grandchildren, Nikki Chandler, Erica and Ash Ballou, Marissa and Ben Hobbs, Seth and Hannah Morris, Luke Morris; his great-grandson, Liam Ballou; nieces and nephews, Vikki and Jim Sherrife, Janie and Jay Culver, Victor and Jenn Kerr, Patti and Dan Maslar, Charles and Angelica Benson; and numerous other family members.
Thank you to all who cared for Daddy. In memory of Moe, say “Thank you for your Service” to a Veteran.
