Texarkana Police Catch Theft in Act

Press Release from Texarkana Texas Police
We arrested 37-year-old Wayde Land early Saturday morning after getting an alarm call at the Baywash Car Wash in the 4200 block of N. Stateline.
Officers were sent out there about 4:15 that morning after the alarm went off. While checking the property, they heard movement coming from up on the roof. When Land refused to come down on his own, we called on our friends at theĀ Texarkana Texas Fire Department, who brought out a ladder truck that we used to climb up there and get him. Land had used a grinder saw to cut a hole in the roof that was just big enough for him to slip through and get inside the building. Once he got in, he loaded up several tools he found there and managed to break into one of the vending machines on the wall too. He was apparently on his way back out of the hole when we got there and screwed up all his plans.
Land was booked into the Bi-State Jail and charged with Burglary of a Building and Possession of a Controlled Substance. His total bond for the two charges was set at $25,000.
