Fayrene was born July 16, 1939, in Atlanta, Texas, to Johnny and Lue Bessie McAlexander. She spent many years in the banking industry as a teller for several banks. She was a active member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was former church treasurer and served on the Benevolence committee and several other positions. She enjoyed spending time cooking and was well known for her pies, but she was best known for her love for her children and being Mimi to her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lightfoot; brother Marlin McAlexander; and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Mitch Lightfoot and wife Cynthia of Texarkana, Texas, Michael Lightfoot and wife Shirley of Bloomburg, Texas, Susan Grogan and husband John of Atlanta, Texas; brother, Jerry McAlexander and wife Sue of Atlanta, Texas; sister, Gay Martin and husband Noah of DeKalb, Texas; sister-in-law, Rebecca McAlexander of Texarkana, Texas; five grandchildren, Carman Owens and husband Chad, Lance Hawkins and wife Romina, Dani Lightfoot, Julia Grogan, Sydney Lightfoot; great-grandchildren, Warren McBride, Mitchell Pergolotti; and a number of other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at New Hope Cemetery, Bloomburg, Texas, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. David Baxley officiating.
