Coach Arrested on Sex Assault Charges

On Sunday, February 20, 2022, the Cass County District Attorney’s Office was asked to assist the Linden Police Department with a series of reported child sex crimes. This investigation revealed that an individual named Aaron Michael Marshall, a thirty-eight-year-old white male, had committed numerous sex crimes against a child. These offenses began sometime in 2016 and continued through 2020.
On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, after speaking to witnesses and gathering evidence, a number of warrants of arrest were requested from Judge Barbara McMillon, Justice of the Magistrate Court of Precinct 1. Judge McMillon issued four first-degree felony warrants and six second-degree felony warrants for the arrest of Marshall.
Aaron Marshall was contacted by our office and surrendered himself on February 23, 2022. Marshall was booked into the Cass County Detention Center by a Texas DPS Trooper.
On Thursday, February 24, 2022, Judge McMillon arraigned Marshall on his charges and set his bonds on each offense as follows:
Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child – a first degree felony – $500,000.00
Sexual Assault of a Child – a first-degree felony – $500,000.00
Sexual Assault of a Child – a first-degree felony – $500,000.00
Sexual Assault of a Child – a first-degree felony – $500,000.00
Indecency with a Child by Contact – a second-degree felony – $250,000.00
Indecency with a Child by Contact – a second-degree felony – $250,000.00
Indecency with a Child by Contact – a second-degree felony – $250,000.00
Indecency with a Child by Contact – a second-degree felony – $250,000.00
Indecency with a Child by Contact – a second-degree felony – $250,000.00
Indecency with a Child by Contact – a second-degree felony – $250,000.00
Our office is aware that Marshall was employed at the Hughes Springs High School as a coach at the time of his arrest. Marshall has served as a coach in numerous school districts in and around our area including Hooks ISD, Winona ISD, Dallas ISD, Jefferson ISD, Bloomburg ISD, and Karnack ISD.
