Maxie Dean Raney, age 91, of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Queen City, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, March 10, 2022 in a Conroe adult care facility. She was born December 2, 1930 to Thomas and Bonnie Stacy. Maxie was a member of Atlanta Church of Christ and lived an eventful life, mostly alongside her husband, Al. Together and with their family they resided on both sides of the U.S. and many points in between. They traveled internationally together, and she even visited Japan. She enjoyed her family, her church community, her neighbors, playing games (especially Scrabble and Bridge), reading and singing.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Bee Raney; son, Craig Allen; daughter, Cynthia Lee; grandson, Travis Allen; her parents; and all of her siblings.
Maxie is survived by one son, Robert Keith Raney of Huntsville, Texas; daughter, Karen Sue Couey and husband Neal of Sweeny, Texas; seven grandchildren, Bryan Keith Raney, Jessica Renee Gasper and husband Andrew, Adam Clayton Raney and wife Stephanie, Stephanie Raney and husband Amish, Ryan Pepper and wife C’Marie, Sara Derr and husband Dustin, Reagan Pepper and wife Tracy; nine great grandchildren, Alex Raney, Stephanie Raney, Aaron Raney, Scarlett Gasper, Everett Gasper, Bodhi Jhaveri, Cash Derr, Kayleb Pepper, Cynthia Pepper; very special sister in law, Marilyn Raney; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the Hanner Funeral Service Chapel.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, March 19, 2022, before the service.
Interment will be in Good Exchange Cemetery.
