Rusty was born 03/24/1948 in Tomato, AR. He passed from this life 01/16/2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family in Queen City, TX.

Rusty is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Lilly (Scott) Underwood; a daughter Betty Sue Berry; brothers Bruce, Pete, Julian and Mike Underwood; and sister Betty Ruth Lancaster.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Underwood, of 39 years; daughter Crystal & husband Lance Acevedo and their children JD, Elizabeth and Nate Acevedo, and bonus son Brandon Berry of Queen City TX; son James Underwood of Queen City TX; daughter Cindy Drew & partner Larry Nance and grandchildren Keisha Wood, David, Christina and Danna Drew of Lake Fork TX; son Bubby Daniel and grandchildren Natasha Clark, John Daniel and Lauren Rohr; son Jimmy Daniel & wife Rita; grandchildren Claude and Alexis Daniel of Rodessa LA; brothers Bill and wife Carol of Texarkana TX, Goat Underwood of Texarkana TX, Don and Judy Underwood of Lafayette LA, and Jerald (Spud) Underwood of Tomato AR; sisters Sheila Hooker & husband James of Truman AR, and Mary Jane Miller of Scott LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rusty was a retired concrete finisher where he retired from Bill Underwood Construction. He adored his family; his greatest blessings called him Pawpaw. He could always be found at the back of his little truck ready to share a cold Busch Lite and see who could tell the biggest story, or in front of the tv watching his westerners. He never met a stranger. He could converse with anyone who would stand there and listen.

A visitation for family and friends will be Friday 01/20/2023 from 1-2pm at Queen City Funeral Home in Queen city TX.

A graveside service in his honor will follow concluding the visitation at Antioch Cemetery beginning at 2:15pm. Interment will follow immediately.
